Azerbaijan's diplomatic activities in climate, peace highly appreciated in Africa

Azerbaijan's diplomatic activities in the field of climate and peace were highly appreciated within the Africa Climate Week, Report informs.
The remarks were made at the Climate Vulnerable Forum in the capital of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa, within the Africa Climate Week (ACW).
At the event, Ethiopian Minister of Planning and Development Fitsum Assefa expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for its constant attention to African countries suffering from climate change and conflicts.
He emphasized the importance of the Baku Call on Climate Action for Peace, Relief, and Recovery adopted at the COP29 climate conference in Baku.
UN Secretary-General's Special Representative to the African Union Parfait Onanga-Anyanga and the Italian Government's Special Envoy for Climate Change Francesco Corvaro noted that the Baku Climate and Peace Action Hub has become one of the most important global platforms in the field of international cooperation and action to combat climate change in a short period of time.
The government officials of Chad, Iraq and Guinea-Bissau also highly appreciated the experience and expert support of the COP29 presidency.
The Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elshad Iskandarov, who chaired the event, expressed gratitude for the high assessment of the activities of the COP29 presidency and emphasized that the Baku Climate and Peace Action Hub is supported by more than 30 countries, as well as a number of multilateral organizations and more than 300 international non-governmental organizations.
At the end of the forum, an agreement was reached to present the results of the activities within the COP30.
