Azerbaijan and Uruguay discuss easing visa requirements

Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay Valeria Csukasi, Report informs, citing Azerbaijan's MFA.
The meeting, the current state and development prospects of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Uruguay were discussed. The parties emphasized the importance of deepening political dialogue, intensifying mutual visits, and strengthening institutional cooperation.
The agreement on cooperation between diplomatic academies was noted with satisfaction, and opportunities for personnel training, experience exchange, and implementation of joint training programs were reviewed. Additionally, possible steps towards liberalization of the visa regime aimed at facilitating mutual visits of citizens were discussed.
The parties highlighted the importance of the visit of the delegation led by the first deputy minister of economy of Azerbaijan to Uruguay last year in terms of its positive contribution to the development of trade and economic ties, and noted the significance of the continuity of such contacts.
During the meeting, an exchange of views on cooperation within the framework of international organizations was also held.
On the same day, the next session of political consultations between Azerbaijan and Uruguay was held. The consultations were led by Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov on the Azerbaijani side and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Valeria Ciucasi on the Uruguayan side.
