The 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) is an important platform for exchanging experiences in urban policy, Adib Benbrahim, Secretary of State for Housing at the Ministry of National Territory and Urban Planning, Housing and City Policy of Morocco, said, according to Report.
"It is especially important that WUF13 is a platform for exchanging experiences. Many countries and various practices are represented here, which need to be shared," he said.
Speaking about Morocco's urban policy, Benbrahim noted that the country has achieved significant progress in a number of key areas.
According to him, Morocco has almost completed the process of eliminating urban voids and has achieved significant results in the development of social housing.
"We believe we have already made significant progress. We are almost finished in eliminating urban voids. The same applies to social housing – significant results have also been achieved in this area," he noted.
Benbrahim added that Morocco is in the final stages of implementing urban renewal programs and is implementing measures to reduce social inequality and poverty and strengthen social cohesion.
