Alex Jimenez joins AFC Bournemouth on loan from AC Milan

THE Cherries have announced the signing of Alex Jimenez from AC Milan on an initial loan deal, Report informs, citing Daily Echo.

The full back joins the club for the season with an obligation to buy included in the deal, which will be worth €19 million, which will be triggered if he starts 50 percent of games this season.

On joining the club, Jiménez told afcb.co.uk: "I"m very happy. I'm excited about this project and that they've welcomed me so well. I can't wait to start training with the team and playing with the team.

It has always been one of my dreams to play in the Premier League and as long as I can fulfil a dream, I will be happy."

Jimenez joins from AC Milan having moved to Italy from the Real Madrid academy in 2023.

The 20-year-old spent a decade in Madrid before joining Milan, and he has gone on to make a total of 34 appearances in all competitions for the Italian giants.

Of those, 26 have come in Serie A, including once in the league so far this season, replacing Pervis Estupinan for the second half as Milan lost 2-1 to Cremonese.

Jimenez has been capped for Spain at U15, U17 and U19 level, and he is set to feature for the U21s during the upcoming international break.

Primarily a right back, Jimenez can operate at left back or further forward on the right of midfield.

AFC Bournemouth"s president of football operations, Tiago Pinto, told afcb.co.uk on the signing: "Alex is a highly regarded young player who has already shown great promise at AC Milan.

"We are delighted to bring a player with such talent into the club and we believe he will be a strong addition to our squad. We"re looking forward to working with him once he returns from international duty with Spain."

Jimenez becomes the Cherries" sixth signing of the summer, joining Adrien Truffert, Djordje Petrovic, Bafode Diakite, Ben Gannon-Doak and Amine Adli as summer recruits, while Junior Kroupi has joined up with the team for his first season after joining in January.
