Contractual requirements related to artificial intelligence (AI) are expected to increase in the future.
Cihan Salihoğlu, Mastercard's Vice President of Cyber Advisory Services for Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said this at an event titled "The Future of Financial Cybersecurity in the Age of Artificial Intelligence" held in Baku, Report informs.
According to him, interface standards, as well as legal and regulatory requirements related to the use of artificial intelligence, are among the key issues that need attention.
"Currently, many countries have not developed broad regulatory mechanisms in this area. However, the European Union and China have already introduced certain rules. In the US, although there is no single federal law, there are guidelines and recommendations for various industries.
The US takes a more liberal approach, and the established guidelines are applied in individual sectors according to their needs. The European Union, meanwhile, takes a stricter position on regulating artificial intelligence. This approach is based on protecting individuals' rights and freedoms. China has its own regulatory model in this area.
However, the issue is not limited to regulatory requirements alone. Contractual obligations related to the use and configuration of artificial intelligence are expected to increase in the future. In addition, it is important to clearly define what data will be shared with AI agents, what tasks they can perform and the limits of their use. In this regard, order intent and user consent are also of particular importance and should remain in focus," he said.
