Deputy minister: Azerbaijan's state budget revenue more than doubled since 2017

In 2025, Azerbaijan's state budget revenues more than doubled compared to 2017, Deputy Minister of Economy Samad Bashirli said during Baku Climate Action Week (BCAW2025), Report informs.

Bashirli highlighted that in 2021, President Ilham Aliyev approved the "Azerbaijan 2030: National Development Roadmap," which outlines key national priorities for the coming decade-including green growth and a high-quality environmental agenda.

"Based on this, the 2022–2026 socio-economic development strategy sets clear goals for growth and long-term stability," he said. "These policies are already showing results. From 2021 to 2024, the non-oil and gas sector grew by an average of 6.7% annually, and its share in GDP reached 68%."

He also noted that non-oil exports have doubled in recent years, reflecting Azerbaijan's growing competitiveness:

"Today, the private sector accounts for over 80% of GDP. At the same time, financial indicators have strengthened-strategic foreign currency reserves have nearly doubled, and public debt has fallen to 6.5% of GDP, one of the lowest rates globally."
