Central Bank of Azerbaijan, AzFina, and PashaPay Host the "Fintech Horizons Forum"

The forum brought together fintech companies to explore the potential of AniPay and the Government Payment Portal, as well as to discuss QR-based and other cutting-edge digital payment solutions.

 Presentations addressed recent regulatory updates and innovations affecting payment institutions and electronic money operators.

 A system designed to expand access for individuals, fintechs, and SMEs-while ensuring security and regulatory compliance with the support of the Central Bank-was a key focus of the discussions.

On September 3, 2025, the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan (CBAR), in collaboration with the Azerbaijan Fintech Association (AzFina) and PashaPay, convened the "Fintech Horizons Forum."

The event served as a high-level platform, uniting key players in the national fintech ecosystem to engage in dialogue around the capabilities of AniPay (local Instant Payment System – IPS), the Government Payment Portal, and emerging technologies such as QR-based payments. Discussions centered on the ongoing digital transformation of the financial sector and the future trajectory of financial services in Azerbaijan.

The forum aimed to accelerate the adoption of digital payments and catalyze innovation in financial technologies. The 66% surge in cashless transactions recorded in 2024 underscores the growing significance of AniPay within the country's digital economy.

Duriung the event, participants collaborated on developing innovative payment products built upon the IPS infrastructure, compliance-ready service models, and business solutions optimized for 24/7 operations. The overarching goal was to create practical, market-driven models that leverage current technologies more effectively to meet evolving user demands.

Certificates of recognition were awarded to teams presenting the most promising solutions.
