Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan discuss draft convention on elimination of double taxation

Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have held negotiations on a draft convention aimed at eliminating double taxation between the two countries, Report informs, citing the State Tax Service (STS) under the Economy Ministry of Azerbaijan.

The latest round of talks took place in Astana on the draft "Convention between the Governments of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan on the Elimination of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Tax Evasion with Respect to Taxes on Income and Property."

The Azerbaijani delegation included experts from the State Tax Service and an authorized representative of the Ministry of Finance, while the Kazakh side was represented by officials from its Ministry of Finance.

As a result of the discussions, consensus was reached on most of the taxation-related provisions of the draft convention. The talks were held in a spirit of mutual understanding, and both sides agreed to intensify efforts to finalize the remaining articles in the near future.

During the visit, Azerbaijani representatives also exchanged views with officials from the State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Kazakhstan on the topic of transfer pricing. The two sides reviewed their respective experiences and agreed to strengthen institutional cooperation in this area going forward.
