Azerbaijan discusses public finance management with Harvard experts

On September 26, a meeting was held at Azerbaijan's Ministry of Finance with experts from the Growth Lab international development center of Harvard University, the United States, Report informs, citing the ministry.

The discussions focused on reforms in public finance management, including the enhancement of the fiscal framework, implementation of budget rules, increasing non-oil revenues, and strengthening fiscal sustainability through advanced approaches.

The talks also addressed the consolidation of Azerbaijan's modern fiscal framework, potential reforms in budgetary rules, development of the non-oil sector, and improved institutional coordination. Growth Lab experts presented simulation models related to fiscal and transfer rules.

The experts' visit to Azerbaijan is part of the implementation of a Cabinet of Ministers decree on regulating organizational and administrative matters in connection with the research and education-training project with Harvard University.
