ADB ready to support Azerbaijan in addressing complex infrastructure challenges

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is ready to provide Azerbaijan with expert and financial support for the implementation of major infrastructure and energy projects, Sunniya Durrani-Jamal, head of the ADB Country Office in Azerbaijan, said at the first Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2025), Report informs.

"We are facing very complex challenges facing countries and regions. Drawing on our experience in Southeast and South Asia in private sector investment, PPP projects, and the role of government, we are transferring these developments to regional markets, including Azerbaijan. For example, we are exploring issues of energy grid integration in the face of growing demand and how less developed countries can create national or regional networks, providing energy to countries experiencing energy shortages," Durrani-Jamal noted.

According to her, ADB is ready to offer comprehensive support: technical expertise, $152 billion in committed capital, and more than 60 years of experience working in a variety of conditions – from droughts to geopolitical changes.

"We're here to help you through this process. So I'd say: please come and join us. We're ready to support Azerbaijan in implementing even the most challenging projects," the head of the office emphasized.
