Sustainable industrialization hubs help countries address supply chain challenges.
Report informs that Gerswin Makkuur, Industrial Development Officer at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), said this at the 31st Baku Energy Forum.
According to him, assessing risks in supply chains is an important issue today.
"This is because the information needed to manage risks in these chains is not always available. For example, there are risks related to regional integration and the expansion of networks. We know that demand is growing, and we need to build the right ecosystems in an integrated cross-border format," he said.
Makkuur noted that bottlenecks in supply chains are also affected by energy security-related developments such as climate change, geopolitical dynamics and conflicts.
"We are working to establish sustainable industrialization hubs in countries. These hubs bring together various energy and service providers, helping countries address supply chain challenges and minimize risks," he said.
