SOCAR's STAR refinery imports over 5.1M tons of crude oil in H1 2025

In the first half of 2025, the STAR Oil Refinery in Türkiye, a subsidiary of Azerbaijan"s State Oil Company (SOCAR), imported more than 5,199,829 tons of crude oil, Report informs, citing Türkiye's Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK).

This accounted for 20.56% of the country's total crude oil imports during the period.

The volume imported by the STAR refinery decreased by 230,835 tons or 4.2% compared to the first half of 2024.

In June 2025 alone, STAR imported approximately 891,977 tons of crude oil-an increase of 29,624 tons or 3.4% year-on-year.

Overall, between January and June 2025, Türkiye's oil refineries imported nearly 15,402,714 tons of crude oil. In June, the monthly import volume stood at around 2,922,327 tons. Compared to the same periods in 2024, this represents a 2.6% decrease (415,223 tons) for the half-year total and a 2.8% increase (80,652 tons) for June specifically.
