SOCAR increases oil refinery production by over 13%

In 2021, 6.7 million tons of oil (+13.3%) was processed at the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), Report informs.

Last year, the plant exported more than 2 million tons (+25.5%) of refinery and petrochemical products.

In 2021, the refinery produced 106,200 tons (+72.4%) of furnace oil, 25,950 tons (+54.8%) of lubricants, 256,200 tons of oil coke (+30.1%), 2.4 million tons (+17.8%) of diesel fuel, and 1.26 million tons of gasoline (+8.4%).

As the only oil refinery in the region, the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery of SOCAR provides Azerbaijan with fuels such as RON-92, diesel, and jet fuel, but also supplies SOCAR's petrochemical plants in Azerbaijan with raw materials. Some of the plant's products are exported. Modernization and reconstruction work aimed at increasing the production capacity of the refinery, providing the country with high-quality fuel in accordance with Euro-5 standards, stable supply of Azerikimya PU, and increasing the export potential of oil products are important for Azerbaijan's industry.
