SOCAR increases diesel output at its refinery in Türkiye by 7% in 1H2025

Between January and June 2025, the STAR Oil Refinery, an asset of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in Türkiye, produced more than 3,345,694 tons of diesel fuel, Report informs, citing Türkiye's Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA).

This figure is 217,984 tons, or 6.97%, higher than in the first half of 2024.

In June alone, STAR Refinery produced over 527,978 tons of diesel, marking a 65.6% increase (209,113 tons) compared to June of the previous year.

Overall, Turkish oil refineries produced approximately 8,378,739 tons of diesel fuel in the first half of 2025, and nearly 1,403,874 tons in June. These figures represent year-on-year increases of 407,087 tons (5.1%) and 143,715 tons (11.4%), respectively.

STAR Refinery was inaugurated on October 19, 2018, and has been operating at full capacity since September 2019. The facility has an annual crude oil processing capacity of 13 million tons and is capable of refining Urals, Azeri Light, and Kirkuk crude grades.

Its main products include diesel fuel (4.8 million tons), jet fuel, naphtha (1.6 million tons), liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), mixed xylene, and petroleum coke.

STAR also holds Türkiye's first Strategic Investment Incentive Certificate.
