He recalled that during the visit to Azerbaijan, the delegation from Uganda held a meeting at the Ministry of Energy, where they discussed the prospects for cooperation between the two countries in the oil and gas sector, mining and hydropower.
"At the ministry, we discussed a number of areas of cooperation between the governments of Azerbaijan and Uganda, in particular in the energy sector. Some of them have already been successfully implemented," the minister of state said.
John Mulimba stressed that Uganda wants to use Azerbaijan's experience to build other hydroelectric power plants. "In addition, [at the Ministry of Energy] we also talked about mineral exploration. Uganda is rich in mineral reserves. For example, we have a lot of gold, we have lithium. We have rare earth metals, in particular, cobalt. We also have iron ore. Therefore, we are looking forward to signing an agreement on cooperation and joint activities in the field of exploration and production of minerals, construction of infrastructure," he added.
