Minister: Jabrayil energy hub is among key issues awaiting resolution for delivery of green energy to Europe via Armenia

The creation of green energy export infrastructures that will ensure the delivery of electricity to Türkiye via Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan and Georgia, and from there to Europe, is one of the main priorities on the energy agenda of the two countries, Azerbaijan's Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov stated, Report informs.
He made the remark during at the 4th Azerbaijan-Türkiye Energy Forum in Izmir.
According to Shahbazov, it is important to strengthen efforts in implementing the necessary processes for the export of 1,000 MW of energy to be generated in Nakhchivan to Turkish and European markets in the initial stage:
"Accelerating these processes becomes particularly relevant amid new realities. Favorable electricity connections between Nakhchivan and Türkiye are among the important issues awaiting resolution for the delivery of green energy from other regions of Azerbaijan, the Caspian Sea, as well as Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan via the Jabrayil energy hub through Armenia to Nakhchivan, and from there to Türkiye and Europe."
Shahbazov added that the Terms of Reference document has already been prepared for the Azerbaijan-Georgia-Türkiye-Bulgaria green energy corridor project:
"The time has come to take intensive measures in this direction and to progress according to the planned schedule. I believe that this Forum will make a significant contribution to the progress of all projects."
