Work carried out in Azerbaijan's energy sector is opening new opportunities for the development of a green economy, Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said during the first-reading discussions of the 2026 state budget in the Parliament.
He stated that attracting around $2.8 billion in foreign and domestic investment for eight industrial-scale solar and wind power plants - completed or planned for implementation by 2027 with a combined capacity of about 2 GW-will not only contribute to economic growth but also expand prospects for green development.
Jabbarov added that agreements signed to establish the Caspian–Black Sea–Europe and Central Asia–Azerbaijan green energy corridors, along with the launch of work in these directions, will further strengthen Azerbaijan's role as a strategic energy hub, a reliable energy exporter, and a center for green investment.
