Mikayil Jabbarov: ‘Contract of the Century" places Azerbaijan firmly on global energy map

Azerbaijani Economy Minister, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), Mikayil Jabbarov, shared a post on his X social media account on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of the signing of the "Contract of the Century," Report informs.

"Today marks the anniversary of ‘the Contract of the Century', which laid the foundation for a new era in Azerbaijan's oil and gas history. This landmark agreement, symbolizing our economic sovereignty and serving as the cornerstone of our modern energy strategy, was made possible through the principled leadership and farsighted vision of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

‘The Contract of the Century' placed Azerbaijan firmly on the global energy map, established the basis for enduring partnerships, and attracted substantial foreign investment into our country. This historic legacy continues to guide our economic development and energy policy to this day," reads the post.
