Georgia's spending on natural gas imports from Azerbaijan drops by 6%

In January-August of 2025, Georgia imported natural gas worth $139.8 million from Azerbaijan, marking a 6% year-on-year decrease, Report informs, referring to Georgia's National Statistical Office.
In August alone, Georgia purchased $14.9 million worth of blue fuel from Azerbaijan, which is a decline of 3% compared to the same period last year.
Over the eight-month period, Georgia imported a total of $277.6 million worth of natural gas abroad, representing a 7.4% YoY increase.
During the reporting period, Georgia received natural gas valued at $137.5 million from Russia, $152,300 from China, $132,500 from Iran, and $28,000 from Belarus.
Meanwhile, in 2024, Georgia imported 2.315 billion cubic meters of natural gas worth $435.5 million, of which 1.664 billion cubic meters valued at $254.3 million came from Azerbaijan.
