Georgia increases oil imports from Azerbaijan

In January-April of this year, Georgia imported 41,981 tons of oil and petroleum products worth $36.42 million from Azerbaijan, Report informs, citing data from Georgia's National Statistics Office.
The figures are 6 times higher in value and 5 times more in quantity compared to the same period of 2025.
Thus, Azerbaijan ranked 5th among the countries from which Georgia imports oil and petroleum products.
In the four months of 2026, Georgia purchased 590,593 tons of oil and petroleum products worth $471.32 million from foreign countries, which is 19% and 12% more than the figures from a year ago, respectively.
During the reporting period, Georgia received 255,200 tons of oil and petroleum products worth 173.7 million from Russia, 50,000 tons worth $56.9 million from Türkiye, 63,000 tons worth $45.6 million from Romania, and 44,600 tons worth $38 million from Bulgaria.
In 2025, Georgia purchased 1.8 million tons of oil and petroleum products worth $1.4 billion from abroad, of which 172,000 tons worth $118 million accounted for Azerbaijan's share.
