Gas futures prices in Europe have exceeded $1,100 per 1,000 cubic meters, Report informs referring to the London stock exchange ICE.
The price of February futures on the ICE Futures platform at the opening of trading slightly exceeded $1,140, then dropped to $1,100.
Gas prices are falling after reaching an all-time high of $2,190.4 on December 21. Prices on the last day of 2021 for the first time since November 10 fell below $800.
Besides, lowering prices may be associated with additional LNG supplies to Europe from the US and an increase in electricity generation at European wind farms.
