Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that gas from the fields of the Eastern Mediterranean can only be pumped to Europe through Turkish territory, Report informs citing TASS.
He made a corresponding statement to Turkish journalists on board the plane, returning from Albania, commenting on the discussion around the expediency of the EastMed gas pipeline.
"This project is unrealizable. They studied it and saw that there are no positive aspects there. Such work (delivery of gas from the region to Europe) cannot be implemented without Turkey. Gas from there can only go to Europe through Turkey," Erdogan said.
