BTC oil transportation through Turkey declines by over 7%

In September this year, 16.147 million barrels of oil were transported through Turkey via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, Report informs, citing the Turkish pipeline operator BOTAS.

This is 530,000 barrels or 3.4% more than in September last year.

In January-September 2021, the BTC pipeline pumped 148.199 million barrels of oil through Turkey, a drop of 11.943 million barrels or 7.46% from the first nine months of 2020.

The BTC pipeline mainly carries oil from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) block of fields and condensate from Shah Deniz. Moreover, other crude oil and condensate volumes, including oil from Turkmenistan, Russia, and Kazakhstan, are transported through the BTC.
