A new production facility based on pipeline bundle technology is planned as part of BP's Karabagh project in the Caspian Sea, BP Vice President for Geology and Development in Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye, Dan Sparks, said during panel discussions on the second day of Baku Energy Week.
According to Report, he explained that bundle systems combine multiple pipelines and control lines into a single protective structure, improving the efficiency and flexibility of subsea developments.
"As part of the Karabagh project, a subsea bundle manufacturing facility will be created. This will be only the second such facility in the Caspian region. Once operational, it will enable the execution of subsea connection projects using this technology, making them more flexible and efficient," Sparks said.
He added that energy projects not only support resource extraction and infrastructure development, but also help build long-term technical expertise and human capital in the region.
