Azerishig: Azerbaijan needs modern forecasting mechanism to integrate renewables

Azerbaijan needs a system that will become a key tool for integrating renewable energy sources (RES) into the grid, as well as a comprehensive forecasting mechanism, Rasim Aliyev, head of the Wind Energy Department at Azerishig OJSC, said in Baku at the Azerbaijan & Central Asia Green Energy Week 2025, Report informs.

"Currently, numerous RES projects are being implemented in the country, and in my opinion, this will be of great importance in the future. It is essential to use predictive maintenance based on SCADA data during operation. This is fundamental. Outdated methods, such as preventive and corrective maintenance, are currently used, but they are not very effective. A predictive approach allows us to identify faults before they occur, which reduces costs, saves time, and improves the accuracy of power generation forecasting," Rasim Aliyev noted.
