Azerbaijan sees 38% growth in earnings from polypropylene export

Azerbaijan exported 35,179.6 tons of polypropylene worth $44.213 million in January-May 2021, respectively, up $1.287 million or 38.5% and down 4,526 tons or 11.4% from the previous year, Report informs, referring to the State Customs Committee (SCC).
In the five months of 2021, polypropylene export made up 4.87% of exports in the non-oil sector, 0.6% of total exports of the country.
Polypropylene is produced by the Polypropylene plant (184 KTA) of SOCAR Polymer. The Polypropylene Plant was inaugurated on July 18, 2018, with the participation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Italian President Sergio Mattarella. Propylene export started on October 5, 2018.
