Azerbaijan's gas exports grow over 3%

In January–April of 2026, Azerbaijan exported just over 8.416 billion cubic meters of natural gas, valued at approximately $2.536 billion, Report informs, referring to the country's State Customs Committee.

According to the customs declarations, the exports grew by 3.14% in volume, while dropping by 17.28% in value compared to the corresponding period in 2025.

During 4 months, natural gas accounted for 21.35% of Azerbaijan's total exports.

Overall, Azerbaijan conducted foreign trade operations worth $17.403 billion in the initial four months of 2026, which is 2.9% more than in the same period last year. Of this, $11.879 billion came from exports and $5.525 billion from imports. Year‑on‑year, exports grew by 35.2%, while imports fell by 32.1%.

As a result, a trade surplus of $6.354 billion was recorded in 4 months, which is 9.7 times higher compared to the corresponding period last year.
