ASCO discloses volume of solar energy produced at Bibiheybat Ship Repair Yard

At the Bibiheybat Ship Repair Yard of Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping CJSC (ASCO), a company under AZCON Holding, solar panels installed in October last year had generated 112,082 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of energy, Report informs, citing ASCO.

On some days, energy generation reached 700–800 kWh.

According to calculations, during this period approximately 80 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions were prevented. From an environmental perspective, this is equivalent to preserving around 6,100 trees. In addition, about 43.9 tonnes of coal were saved, which demonstrates a reduction in the use of fossil fuels in energy generation.

As many as 162 solar panels, each with a capacity of 690 W, have been installed on an area of 512 square metres at the Bibiheybat Ship Repair Yard.

Furthermore, in order to ensure the continuous and efficient operation of the solar panels, the system underwent a technical inspection. Within this framework, DAM Enerji LLC checked the overall performance of the panels, inverters, and other equipment, as well as carried out cleaning of the panels.
