Ambassador: Tashkent Interested in joint deep oil refining projects with Baku – EXCLUSIVE

Uzbekistan is interested in joint deep oil refining projects with Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan"s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Bahrom Ashrafkhanov, said during the first Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF-2025), according to Report.

"We are engaging SOCAR in projects in Uzbekistan. However, we would like to collaborate on deep oil refining projects. Currently, we have initiatives underway in about 20 sectors of the economy, including the oil and gas industry," he noted.

According to the ambassador, numerous projects are being developed with Azerbaijani companies across various sectors: chemistry, oil and gas, mechanical engineering, and the production and sale of construction materials, including supplies to Karabakh.

"There are great opportunities for this now. Our companies show strong interest, and we plan to open warehouse facilities, as well as a year-round sales center, exhibition spaces, and fairs for construction materials," Ashrafkhanov added.

He also clarified that work is already underway in several areas: a trade house for textiles, separate trade houses and warehouses for construction materials, and a joint center for agricultural products.
