1.4 million tons of oil refined in Azerbaijan in 1Q21

From January through March 2021, the volume of oil refining in Azerbaijan amounted to 1.4 million tons, Report informs with reference to the country’s Energy Ministry.
According to the ministry, oil refining decreased in the country by 93,000 tons compared to the same period last year.
The Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery operated by SOCAR is the only oil refining complex in the region and provides the bulk of Azerbaijan's fuel needs.
The refinery produces 15 types of petroleum products, including motor gasoline, aviation fuel, diesel fuel, fuel oil, petroleum coke, and others.
The refinery, founded in 1953, is currently implementing the 2nd and 3rd stages of the modernization and reconstruction project.
