Environmental disasters have become a shared problem, making stronger solutions necessary to protect cities, natural resources, and living spaces, Turkish expert Ilyas Demirci, Chairman of the Union of Engineers and Architects of the Turkic World, said during an event held within the framework of World Urban Forum 13 in Baku.
According to Report, in this regard, Demirci addressed city administrators, mayors, and decision-makers:
"The future of cities must be built on the principles of planned urban development, environmental sustainability, and the creation of disaster-resilient urban systems."
He also particularly emphasized the significance of holding the forum in Baku.
According to him, hosting WUF13 in "shining Baku - the star of Azerbaijan" is a source of pride both for the country and for the entire Turkic world.
"We sincerely congratulate everyone who contributed to organizing this event, first and foremost President Ilham Aliyev, as well as the volunteers and all participants. Organizing such a large-scale forum, which is attended daily by an average of 45,000 people, is an enormous effort. It truly deserves sincere congratulations," he noted.
