A strategic approach is essential to address growing climate risks in Azerbaijan, said Rovshan Abbasov, environmental expert and member of the Public Council under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, on the third day of Baku Climate Action Week (BCAW2025), Report informs.
Abbasov emphasized that the presence of numerous transboundary rivers increases the country's vulnerability to climate change.
"Border communities are especially climate-sensitive," he said. "We need a clear strategy to deal with these threats. A concept must be developed for people living along both the upper and lower reaches of rivers. This could help prevent a broader crisis."
