Construction of household waste landfills planned in liberated territories

Work is underway in Azerbaijan"s liberated territories to ensure the disposal of household waste, Sabit Zeyniyev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of OJSC Təmiz Şəhər and member of the Working Group on Environmental Issues (WGEI), said at a WGEI meeting, according to Report's correspondent from Lachin.

He noted that design work for landfills is ongoing: "The design and estimate documentation for the Gubadli, Jabrayil, Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Zangilan districts has been prepared and submitted to the State Environmental Expertise Center. The Main Directorate of Expertise of the State Agency for Supervision of Construction Safety under the Ministry of Emergency Situations has already issued a positive conclusion on the design and estimate documentation for the landfills in the above-mentioned districts."

According to him, documentation for the Lachin district has not been submitted to the State Environmental Expertise Center, since the location for the future landfill there will be reselected.

"As for the Kalbajar district, due to the selection of a new site, the design will be carried out jointly with other districts liberated after the counter-terrorism operation - Khojaly, Khojavand, and Aghdara," Zeyniyev added.
