Shahmar Hajiyev: Azerbaijan to continue contributing to transition to renewable energy

Azerbaijan will continue contributing to the transition to renewable energy through the Middle Corridor, Shahmar Hajiyev, Head of Department at the Center of Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center), said during the 13th session of the CICA Think Tank Forum in Baku.

Report quotes him as saying the Middle Corridor strengthens the potential of Central Asian countries both in traditional and renewable energy.

"The Middle Corridor represents an important potential source for the transportation of renewable energy. This concept is aimed at developing the regional economy by creating new logistics lines between East Asia, Central Asia, and Europe, while also creating opportunities for the import and export of renewable energy," he said.

Hajiyev emphasized that overall, the Middle Corridor concept not only expands logistics and transportation opportunities in the field of renewable energy but also creates new prospects in the energy market.
