Ombudsman's appeal helps 72 prisoners to be released

"Based on our appeals, 72 prisoners were released, three life imprisonment were reduced to 25 years, and the sentences of a group of detainees were halved," said Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sabina Aliyeva, Report informs.
"It is a very positive practice, and we appreciate it very much. "Therefore, we express our deep gratitude to the President for his humane policy in the protection of human rights and pleasing several prisoners, their families, and all of us on the eve of Novruz holiday," she said.
