Azerbaijan, Israel discuss devt of co-op in religious sphere

Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations of Azerbaijan, met with Israel's newly appointed ambassador to Azerbaijan, Ronen Krausz, on September 8, Report informs, referring to the agency.

The meeting focused on the importance of existing friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Israel, and particularly discussed the development prospects of cooperation in the field of religious and intercultural dialogue.

 Mammadov highlighted that communities belonging to different religions in Azerbaijan operate in an environment of peace and mutual respect.

Ambassador Krausz, in turn, expressed his satisfaction with the attention and care shown to the traditions of the Jewish community in Azerbaijan. He appreciated the environment of religious tolerance existing in Azerbaijan and noted the importance of exchanging experiences in this field.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on other matters of mutual interest and discussed opportunities for cooperation.
