Sole importer of Azerbaijani yogurt sharply reduces its purchases

In January-September this year, Azerbaijan exported 115.37 tons of yogurts for $239,800, which is 3.4 times less compared to the same period last year in terms of value and quantity, Report informs referring to the data from the Statistical Committee.

Afghanistan has become the only buyer of Azerbaijani yogurt over the past three years. In the first nine months of last year, 387.35 tons of yogurt for $804,990 were delivered to this country, and in 2019 - 415.6 tons of yogurt for $873,120. For the same period of 2018, Afghanistan accounted for 90.94% of the total export of these products, in 2017 - 64.2%, in 2016 - 99.89%, in 2015 - 97.93%.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 2,585.05 tons of yogurt worth $3.263 million. This is 21.1% and 19.2% more than in January-September 2020, respectively. These products come from 13 countries. Russia accounted for 69.74% of total imports. For the same period last year, this figure was 65.35%, in 2019 - 77.93%, in 2018 - 90.98%.
