Certain innovative achievements have been made in the development of beekeeping in Azerbaijan, Lankaran entrepreneur Sayavush Yagubov, who is participating in the Honey Festival held in Kalbajar, told Report.
According to him, the festival showcases not only beekeeping products but also equipment used in the sector:
"Our developed equipment, Supermatr, is successfully used to treat bees against mites. The advantage of this equipment is that it disinfects bees not with chemicals but with natural means. With this equipment, we became winners of the 2nd grant competition of KOBIA. Through this project, we donated our locally manufactured equipment to more than 40 farms," Yagubov said.
"In addition, thanks to the scales we developed, it is possible to monitor the increase or decrease in weight of the bee colony and the humidity level," he added.
The farmer also spoke about the therapeutic effects of beekeeping products and the equipment developed for this purpose:
"A treatment method called Apitherapy is applied using equipment that holds 15 frames containing wax, honey, pollen, bee venom, royal jelly, and bee bread. This treatment involves breathing the air released by the movement of bees," he explained.
