Daimler said it would pay German employees a 1,000 euro ($1,196) "corona bonus" to help compensate for personal and economic burdens such as wearing a mask and working from home, Report says, citing Reuters.
About 160,000 employees in Germany are eligible for the bonus, Daimler, which also owns Mercedes-Benz, said in a Tuesday statement.
"During this extraordinary time, the company could always count on the flexibility and willingness of our workforce," Daimler personnel chief Wilfried Porth said.
The bonus applies to non-managerial employees, including all team leaders at Daimler, Mercedes-Benz, Daimler Truck, the Daimler Mobility division, and all subsidiaries in Germany.
The bonus will be paid out with the December salary, Daimler said
