Borjomi workers block access to plants

Borjomi workers have blocked access to both bottling plants, Report informs.
The protesters' main demand is the payment of two months' salary to about 50 laid-off employees and their reinstatement.
Protesters are also demanding new employment contracts.
Police officers were involved in the area. Despite the demand of the police to stop blocking the entrances, the protesters continue to oppose.
Borjomi employees have been on strike since May 31. Due to financial difficulties, production at two IDS Borjomi bottling plants has been suspended since April 30. The company offered a part of its shares to the Georgian government free of charge. Negotiations are underway.
