Azerbaijan's wheat imports from Russia soar

In January-March of 2026, Azerbaijan imported 371,802 tons of wheat, valued at $82.77 million, marking a year-on-year increase of 29% and 33%, respectively, Report informs, referring to the country's State Statistical Committee.
During the first quarter, Azerbaijan purchased wheat from:
- Russia: 278,219 tons (+5 times) worth $62.29 million (+4.5 times);
- Kazakhstan: 93,581 tons (-60%) worth $20.47 million (-58%);
- Türkiye: 1.6 tons (-81%) worth $800 (-83%).
Overall, Azerbaijan imported more than 1.267 million tons of wheat in 2025, of which 52.26% came from Kazakhstan and 47.73% from Russia.
