Azerbaijan invites Brazilian investors to active cooperation

The first meeting of the Joint Working Group on Trade and Investment Cooperation between the governments of Azerbaijan and Brazil has been held, Report informs, referring to Azerbaijan"s Economy Ministry.
The meeting took place as part of a visit to Latin America by a delegation led by First Deputy Minister of Economy Elnur Aliyev. During the visit, meetings and events were held in Brazil, with discussions focused on expanding bilateral cooperation.
As co-chair of the Joint Working Group, Elnur Aliyev highlighted the importance of collaboration and experience-sharing with Brazil in areas such as trade, investment, agriculture, transportation, and other sectors.
He noted that the Joint Working Group would serve as a key platform for advancing these efforts. The meeting also highlighted Azerbaijan"s favorable business environment, various incentives for investors, and its extensive network of industrial and agro-parks. Brazilian investors were invited to engage in active cooperation.
Laudemar Gonçalves de Aguiar Neto, Brazil"s Deputy Foreign Minister and co-chair of the Joint Working Group, shared his views on strengthening economic partnerships with Azerbaijan across various sectors.
Representatives from Azerbaijan"s Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Digital Development and Transport, Science and Education, as well as the Food Safety Agency, the Agrarian Research Center, and the Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO) participated in the meeting.
They discussed expanding cooperation in their respective fields and presented proposals. The final protocol of the event outlined areas of collaboration including trade and investment, transport and logistics, energy, agriculture, food safety, innovation, technology, science and education, and tourism.
As part of the visit, Brazil"s Vice President and Minister of Development, Industry, Trade and Services, Geraldo Alckmin, received Elnur Aliyev. During the meeting, it was emphasized that Azerbaijan places great importance on strengthening ties with Brazil. Information was shared about ongoing reforms in Azerbaijan, and it was noted that economic and trade relations between the two countries are growing. From January to July 2025, bilateral trade turnover exceeded $230 million-twice as much as in the same period last year. The potential for further growth in trade with Brazil was also highlighted. Both sides discussed key issues on the agenda of mutual economic relations.
