Azerbaijan increases sugar export revenue by 34%

In January-May 2025, Azerbaijan imported sugar and sugar confectionery worth $90.45 million, 5.1% more than in the same period last year, Report informs, citing the State Customs Committee.
During the specified period, Azerbaijan also exported sugar and sugar confectionery worth $13.79 million, 33.8% more than a year ago.
In five months, imports of sugar and sugar confectionery amounted to 0.9% of Azerbaijan's total imports, and exports amounted to 0.1% of total exports.
In January-May 2025, Azerbaijan conducted trade transactions with foreign countries worth $20.97 billion. Of the foreign trade turnover, $11 billion fell on exports, and $9.96 billion on imports. Over the past year, exports decreased by 1.2%, while imports increased by 36.5%.
