5 countries account for over 75% of passenger car imports in Azerbaijan

In January-September this year, Azerbaijan exported 51,647 cars with gasoline and diesel engines worth $506.2 million, Report informs referring to the State Statistics Committee.

Passenger cars with spark-ignition engine of capacity not exceeding 1,000 cubic centimeters

During the reporting period, 358 vehicles of this category were imported into Azerbaijan for $1.736 million, which in value terms is 78.36%, and in quantitative terms - 2.7 times more than in the same period last year.

As many as 162 vehicles for $745,200 were imported from South Korea, 19 vehicles for $309,610 from Mexico, 25 vehicles for 189,960 from Germany, 110 units for $180,190 from China, 22 units for $137,200 from the US, 20 units for $173,600 from other six countries.

Compared to the same period last year, supplies from South Korea increased 4.6 times and 4.8 times, respectively, from Mexico - 2.1 times and 3.3 times, from Germany - 6.3 times and 7.7 times, from China - 7.3 times and 4.5 times, from the US supplies decreased by 15.38% and 32.62%.

Azerbaijan has received 20,197 vehicles of this classification for $116.242 million. This is 53.4% ​​more than in the same period in 2020 in value terms, and 71.93% more in quantitative terms.

As many as 8,137 cars were imported for $47.348 million from the US, 1,987 cars for $15.058 million from Mexico, 4,024 units for $13.898 million from Germany, - 881 units for $12.125 million from China, 1,557 units for $7.226 million from Japan, 1,489 units for $5.608 million from South Korea, 320 units for $4.469 million from Russia, 510 units for $2.005 million from Slovakia, 286 units worth $1.982 million from Turkey, 331 units worth $1.783 million from the Czech Republic and 675 cars with a total value of $4.739 million from the remaining 17 countries.

In the first nine months of this year, 16,648 vehicles of this category were imported to Azerbaijan for $258.858 million, which in value terms is 37.27%, and in quantitative terms - 43.32% more than in the same period last year.

Azerbaijan imported 2,620 cars worth $65.072 million from Germany, 3,400 cars worth $46.327 million from the US, 3,706 units worth $37.980 million from Russia, 1,516 units worth $36.836 million from Japan, 3,193 units worth $25.029 million from South Korea, 269 units worth $12.922 million from the UK, from Slovakia - 252 units worth $8.981 million, from Mexico - 784 units worth $7.619 million, from China - 244 units worth $5.629 million, 301 vehicles worth $4.966 million were imported from Turkey, 155 vehicles worth $3.431 million were imported from the Czech Republic, and 208 vehicles worth $4.065 million from the remaining 14 countries.

Supplies from Germany decreased by 10.55% and 33.61%, respectively, from the US - 36.66% and 41.83%, Russia - 2.5 times and 2.7 times, Japan - 5.42% and 1.99%, South Korea - 63.07% and 55.29%, Slovakia - 2.7 times and 94.89%, Mexico - 6.96% and 20.32%, China - 23.86% and 82.03%, from Turkey - 2.1 times and 2 times, from the Czech Republic - by 27.23% and 14.85%, from the UK - by 15.47% in value terms, and in quantitative terms increased by 13.98%.

As many as 349 such vehicles were delivered to Azerbaijan for $27.376 million. Compared to the same period last year, in value terms, supplies decreased by 11.37%, while in quantitative terms, the supplies increased by 10.44%.

Azerbaijan imported 209 vehicles worth $12.114 million from Japan, from the US - 67 units worth $5.31 million, from Germany - 40 units worth $5.195 million, from the UK - 9 units for $1.489 million, from Austria - 9 units worth $1.454 million and 15 cars for a total amount of $1.813 million from another six countries.

Compared to the same period last year, supplies from Japan increased by 97.17% and 2.1 times, respectively, from the US - by 76.32% and 2.23 times, from Germany the supplies decreased by 48.05% and 40.79%, from the UK - by 59.04% and 55%, from Austria - by 82.37% and 83.64%.

Diesel passenger cars with engine capacity not exceeding 1,500 cubic centimeters

Azerbaijan received 6,338 units of vehicles of this classification for $22.119 million, which is 84.46% and 83.57% more compared to the first nine months last year.

According to the data, 2,153 units worth $7.621 million were imported from Germany, 1,175 units worth $3.936 million - from South Korea, 748 units worth $2.450 million - from Turkey, 838 units worth $2.866 million - from the UK, 564 units worth $2.009 million from France, 419 units worth $1.428 million from Japan, and 441 cars worth $1.809 million from 11 more countries.

Diesel passenger cars with engine capacity of 1,500-2,500 cubic centimeters

In January-September 2021, 7,388 vehicles of this category were delivered to Azerbaijan for $65.408 million. Compared to the same period last year, this is growth in value terms by 32.9%, in quantitative terms - by 62.73%.

Diesel passenger cars with engine capacity of over 2,500 cubic centimeters

During the reporting period, 369 such vehicles were imported in Azerbaijan for $14.461 million, which in value terms is a 0.57% decrease compared to the same period last year, and in quantitative terms – growth by 5.43%.
