Ministry of Agriculture announces launch of project on artificial intelligence in agriculture

The Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan has launched a project titled "Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture," Surkhay Novruzov, the ministry"s project lead for AI implementation in the agricultural sector, said during Baku Climate Action Week (BCAW2025).
He noted that by the end of 2024, a large amount of data had been collected from farmers, entrepreneurs, and other private sector participants: "The project is being implemented based on this information in cooperation with international partners and consultants. The main goal of the project is to support the Ministry of Agriculture, other government agencies, and farmers in making informed decisions."
Novruzov emphasized that over 30 use cases addressing key agricultural challenges have been identified: "These use cases cover areas such as water, soil, diseases, pests, and monitoring. At the same time, the process of evaluating farmers' plots has already begun across the country, and the use cases are being integrated into real processes."
