The Middle East countries are very interested in fresh fruits and vegetables produced in Azerbaijan, while Far Eastern nations are showing demand for processed products such as pomegranate juice and wine, Azerbaijan's Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov said on the second day of the Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2025) held in Baku, according to Report.
"Today, we are not only focused on production, but also on how and where to sell it. That's why we are actively engaging with partners from the Middle East, Far East, CIS, and European Union countries. These markets show demand for specific Azerbaijani products," the minister said.
He added that Azerbaijan ranks fourth globally in hazelnut production, with the majority of exports going to European markets.
Highlighting Azerbaijan's strategic advantages, Mammadov noted the country's geographic position and strong diplomatic ties with neighboring countries, regional powers, and major global states.
"Another advantage is our favorable climate and investment environment. The government offers a wide range of incentives, including exemptions from customs duties and taxes, which are key attractions for investors. Additionally, the quality of human capital in Azerbaijan is another factor drawing the attention of global investors and partners," he said.
