Meat production in Azerbaijan could increase by 20% by 2030

It is planned to increase the total volume of milk production in Azerbaijan by 10% and meat production by 20% by 2030, Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov said at a meeting chaired by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dedicated to agricultural issues, Report informs.

According to him, the main goal is to bring the level of self-sufficiency in meat production to 100%: "The same picture is envisaged for sheep breeding as well. The creation of semi-intensive farms in the direction of sheep breeding is planned, and thanks to this, it is targeted to increase overall product output by 9% and bring self-sufficiency to 101%.

I should note that the current level of self-sufficiency in poultry products is 82%, and bringing it to 100% has been determined as the main target. Production is planned to be increased by 30%. The main measures to be taken here are the creation of new poultry houses, new slaughterhouses, and accordingly, the promotion of breeding work."
