Azerbaijan resumes import of potatoes from France, Egypt, Ukraine

In January-September 2021, Azerbaijan exported 91,834.66 tons of potatoes worth $39.856 million, which is 18.1% more in value terms and 12.93% more in quantitative terms than in the same period last year, Report informs referring to the State Statistics Committee.

Russia is the main supply market for Azerbaijani potatoes. Some 85,015.5 tons of products worth $38.298 million were exported to this country. Compared to the same period last year, supplies increased by 22.82% and 24.4%, respectively.

During the reporting period, potatoes were supplied to six countries. Some 4,723.07 tons of products were exported to Ukraine for $1.061 million, to Belarus - 1,327.92 tons for $345,350, to Kazakhstan - 656.18 tons for $128,460, to Georgia – 68.6 tons for $12,130, to Moldova - 43.4 tons for $10,850.

In the first nine months of this year, Azerbaijan imported 117,175.3 tons of potatoes worth $28.343 million. Compared to the same period last year, deliveries of this product increased by 36.96% in terms of value and by 39.32% in quantitative terms.

During the reporting period, after a one-year break, Azerbaijan resumed import of potatoes from Ukraine and France, and after a two-year break - from Egypt.
